Neutral Ramming Mass
Neutral ramming mass is a monolithic refractory material mainly made of alumina-magnesia spinel, corundum and high-grade magnesia, combined with composite binders and additives. As a neutral refractory material, it is mostly dry-mix (with very little water or liquid added), requiring mechanical or manual ramming for construction.
Physical and Chemical Characteristics:
• High refractoriness: ≥1730℃, and its service temperature range is 1600℃- 1700℃.
• Excellent slag resistance: Resists corrosion from molten steel, alkaline slag and alloy molten steel, with low penetration and minimal slag adhesion.
• Good thermal shock resistance: Withstands rapid heating and cooling, resists spalling, and is not prone to cracking or peeling.
• High strength at high temperature: Hot modulus of rupture ≥8 MPa at 1600℃.
Main Applications:
• Lining of medium-frequency/power-frequency induction furnaces (melting of carbon steel, alloy steel, high-manganese steel and stainless steel).
• Lining/repair of ladles, iron ladles and tundishes.
• Bottom, sidewall and slag line areas of electric arc furnaces.
• High-temperature zones of non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces, heat treatment furnaces and cracking furnaces.
