Corundum Ramming Mass
Corundum ramming mass is a high-grade monolithic refractory ramming material made primarily from high-purity corundum, combined with high-quality micro-powders, composite binders and additives. It belongs to neutral/weakly acidic refractory materials, and is applied by ramming or vibration construction, often used in high-temperature and severe erosion areas.
1. Main Components:
• Aggregate: white corundum, brown corundum, tabular corundum, fused corundum
• Matrix: fine corundum powder, α-Al₂O₃ micro-powder, activated alumina powder
• Binder system: water glass, phosphate, resin, low-cement / ultra-low cement binders
• Additives: water reducer, anti-cracking agent, sintering agent
2. Physical and Chemical Characteristics:
• High Al₂O₃ content, typically ≥ 80%, and over 95% for high-grade products
• High refractoriness and good high-temperature volume stability
• High hot strength and excellent wear resistance
• Good thermal shock resistance, not easy to spall
• Resistant to acid slag and molten metal corrosion, without polluting molten steel
3. Performance Advantages:
• High temperature resistance, erosion resistance and wear resistance
• Dense structure with strong penetration resistance
• Easy construction and good overall integrity
• Long service life, suitable for harsh working conditions
4. Main Applications:
• Lining, bottom and sidewall of induction furnaces and electric arc furnaces
• Lining and patching materials for ladles and iron ladles
• Blast furnace tapholes, slag runners, and around burner blocks
• High-temperature sections of non-ferrous smelting furnaces, heat treatment furnaces and rotary kilns
